At United Way of Allen County, we exist to boldly impact critical community issues and we are in search of our next dynamic President/CEO.

With initiatives and four priority areas of focus designed to make the biggest impact in the most needed areas of Allen County, the President/CEO position will provide for an exciting, unique and transformational leadership opportunity.

The President/CEO is dedicated to shared and measurable goals for the common good – creating, resourcing, scaling and leveraging strategies for broad investment and impact.

The President/CEO is the steward of brand and understands his/her role in growing and protecting the reputation of United Way. This person is responsible for building trust in United Way and its relevance in the community. S/he values network and strives to leverage United Way’s breadth of community presence, relationships, and strategy. 

United Way of Allen County has recently invested in a thorough and on-going evaluation of our strategic initiatives and with the board and employees’ buy-in, we are intentionally evaluating and re-evaluating how to improve the benefits we bring to the community and to the growth of our employees.  The next President/CEO will be an integral part of bringing their ideas and continuing the strategic process currently in place.   

Candidates for this position should have the skills and desire to lead our organization, to establish a vision for Community Impact, and to leverage the power of relationships and networks to improve conditions in the community.  Candidates should possess a high level of broad business and management skills and be effective at generating resources and financial support for the organization.   

The President/CEO has unquestioned integrity, a long-term perspective, a strong sense of accountability, drives for results, creates and nurtures a positive culture, has flexibility and courage to shift direction and experiment with new initiatives, and possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.

This position requires an undergraduate degree.  Training, experience or advanced degree in business, public administration or social services is desired.  Candidates must have five to seven years of experience in executive leadership and management level; a non-profit background is strongly preferred.

This position pays a competitive wage for the region it serves and may include opportunities for bonus pay or relocation.
