Vincent Village - Substitute Resident Assistant

Our Substitute Resident Assistant (Sub RA) is an on-call, temporary relief position that fills in for the primary Resident Assistant (RA) during scheduled and unscheduled absences. The Sub RA is expected to immediately and effectively assume all duties and responsibilities of the RA to ensure uninterrupted security, safety, and operational continuity of the Vincent House and shelter program. This role is essential for maintaining a stable and accountable environment for resident families.

  • Part-time; Must be available for on-call shifts, often with short notice, across all days and shifts (day, evening, night, weekend)
  • Hourly pay is dependent upon shift coverage: first shift $15.00, second shift $16.00, and third shift $16.50 (weekend third shift, Saturday and Sunday only, is $17.00); all wages are less taxes and other deductions
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Must satisfactorily pass pre-and post-employment screenings such as a background check(s), drug screen, and meet driving requirements
  • Valid driver’s license and insurability through Vincent Village, Inc.’s insurance carrier is required

Additional Details of our Substitute Resident Assistant Position

Shift Continuity and Accountability

  • Enforce program standards and house rules rigorously, maintaining accountability for resident chores, schedule adherence, and behavior
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed
Safety and Emergency Management
  • Maintain the security of the house and manage the Front Desk operations
  • Respond immediately to all safety events and execute all Emergency Distress Codes (Red, Orange, Yellow)

Administrative and Communication Duties

  • Manage the Phone System and Intercom/Door Operations for controlled access and communication
  • Maintain detailed and comprehensive documentation in the Staff Log, recording all incidents, communications, shift turnovers, and resident status changes

Physical Requirements

  • Employee must be capable of constantly moving about and interacting with residents in indoor and outdoor settings
  • Frequently move items up to fifteen (15) pounds
  • Frequently ascend/descend stairs
  • Good reading comprehension, listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Occasionally required to drive/operate a Vincent Village, Inc. owned vehicle
